The PO role represents the voice of customer (VOC). This position is essential to prioritize and evaluate the outcomes produced by teams that are the builders of things (BoT). Selecting the right person to represent VOC is critical to build the right customer value at the right time.

The name Product Owner is misleading and may lead people to believe that the person in this role owns the product.  Many stakeholders in an organization represents true ownership of the products.
